Winter Preparations

The first real cold is predicted for tomorrow. It feels good to be prepared, to feel as if everything is taken care of and the animals will be snug and safe. This need to provide becomes so much keener with the coming of winter. A large load of hay has been delivered, the repaired and cleaned blankets are ready, the windows are shut, the manure bin emptied, the stalls are bedded up deeply with shavings. I can rest assured everything has been taken care of…or have I forgotten something?

About lrtrovi

I am a writer in Howard County, Maryland who spends free time practicing the art of dressage on my horses, haunting the local bookstores and libraries for the next great read, and working on my own novels.
